For this photo friday I dug out a few photos that are a from the fall season. I wanted to get a few showing the colors of nature and what better season for that than fall. Well other than spring and well ... anyway I chose fall this time around :-)
I couldn't even begin to tell you about how many times I got the comment sounding something like "what are you going to do with a photo of a single tree with red leaves???" followed by something like that is crazy...
Anyway those comment sort of faded a wee bit after a similar shot ended up on the cover of outdoor photographer. Here it is:
The next one I have had on my desktop at work and somehow just started liking it more the more I look at it. I dunno why but... there's just something... for me anyway ;-)
Now I like waterfalls, water, mountains, fall colors and all that. Here I have tried combining a little bit of everything and get some punch by doing some simple color isolation. One by removing all other colors and the other simply by have the main yellow color "stick out" from the rest.
That's it for this week. Hopefully soon I will get some more from the mountains :-)

I love these type of isolation shots. Very vivid and well done.
I am IN LOVE with red leaves. I will drag the family out hiking just so I can steal a branch or two to use as fall decorations in my house. Is that weird?
Your pics are AMAZING. Great PSF!!
Oooh I love fall. Those are beautiful shots.
Ah, the colours of Autumn.
Very clever shots, I will have to try that.
You're right about that second one - such depth! Those individual leaves are stunning too!
Your green smoke looks like a geisha girl. love that slideshow!
I have learned not to say anything anymore, other than, Wow honey, that looks great!!
These are beautiful! And the second one IS pretty amazing. I love it! Fall is easily my favorite season!!
I am loving the one with the red leaf on the stones. FANTASTIC!! Looks like something that should be hung on a wall. Seriously.
Lovely shots! Peaceful.......... colourful.
Those colors are wonderful. I can't seem to pick a favorite.
Isn't nature the best subject fpr the camera ever? It doesn't roll it's eyes & say "Mom, Sop taking pictures!"
Pop over & see my interview with a diva, Miss Dragonfly: http://anapronaday.blogspot.com/2008/06/interview-with-miss-dragon-fly.html
thank you all. It means a lot to me to get comments like this. Maybe I'm just getting a bit sensitive ;-)
mamageek: isolation shots either work or turn out strange. I aim for the ones that work ;-)
Cecily: nope, not weird at all... But then again look at who you are asking ;-)
head gaggler: thank you :-)
working mum: autumn is cool. well color wise too ;-) but with digital there is nothing to loose.
hotmamabeads: thank you :-) and well that's a new interpretation of the smoke photos. I learned a few new tricks and got to get some more light on it and improve focus. btw. you can make a slideshow like that for free by signing up for a photoshop express account (free too) https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html. You get 2Gb of free storage and recently they added the option to download your photos again after editing them (much like in photoshop). I need a better post on photoshop express but here is the first one: photoshop express.
Jacki: ohh you did ;-) It's just so rare that I end up being right so when I am I well might point it out a time or two ;-)
April: yep fall is great. Kind of funny April loves fall :-) (just a side note ;-)
Alexandria: thank you. I got many photos I want to print and some time want to try a "big" print. Only thing is that it comes with a price tag. What is free though is going to my photoreflect account (the red leaf on rocks is in this collection) and send a free e-card. This can be done by selecting the photo from the collection (viewing it full size) and click the "send photo card" from the top menu. (ohh if it asks you to sign up just ignore it and continue without doing so).
maggie may: you are spot on. This is my peaceful areas. Head to the mountains and ahhhhh
chris osborne: yeah that's kind of my "issue" too. Picking one among many... not always easy.
the apron queen: you are soo right. Often you don't see mountains moving too much. and you sure don't get any complaints or "hurry it up now" or "I blinked!!!".
Nature is cool :-) thanks I will have to check out the interview :-)
I love the second picture, so pretty all the leaves in different pahses and then the RED one just jumps right out!
Great photos. I can see why you had the second on your desktop it is beautiful.
